Protester to NZ Government : Oppose Gaza Attack

As the conflict continues in Gaza, More than 1000 Palestine supporters staged a protest action in Central Wellington today against Israel 's bombardement of Gaza

The Wellington Palestine Group also called on the New Zealand government to its neutral stance.

According to Green MP Keith Locke, The NZ government was hypocritical if it did not speak up against the "terrorist attack " on the people of Gaza.

The protesters delivered a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade office on Lambton Quay and marched to Civic Square chanting to a drum beat, clapping and waving signs.

In the latest news, Israeli troops have tightened their military grip on the Gaza Strip as the war on Gaza enters its 11th day.

Air and naval bombardments killed 45 Palestinians on Monday, bringing to 548 the number of Palestinians killed since the offensive began on December 27.

Three Israeli soldiers were killed and 24 wounded in the battles around Gaza City on Monday night, the Israeli military said early on Tuesday.
