EMBASSY CONDUCTS MOBILE CONSULAR SERVICES AND OVERSEAS ABSENTEE VOTING (OAV) REGISTRATION FOR FILIPINOS IN ROTORUA AND NEIGHBORING AREAS

From Philippine Embassy Website :

Pursuant to the Philippine Embassy’s priority to deliver more effective and efficient consular services to the Filipino community members staying in outlying areas where it will be too costly for them and their families to travel to Wellington, the Embassy will conduct mobile consular services and Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) registration for Filipino residents of Rotorua and neighboring areas on 14-17 April 2012 at the Rotorua Arts Village, 1240 Hinemaru St., Rotorua .

The consular services will include passport renewal/issuance, authentication, notarial, NBI fingerprinting, dual citizenship and Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV). The Embassy encourages all Filipino citizens in the area to register for Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV). Registering as an overseas voter gives Filipino citizens abroad the opportunity to exercise their rights to vote and elect the political leaders during Philippine national elections. Registrants are advised to bring their Philippine passports and a photocopy of its data page and the page with the New Zealand visa.

Those who have acquired dual citizenship are requested to bring their New Zealand or Philippine passports, the Oath of Allegiance and the Order of Approval a photocopy of each of these documents. This is the ninth of the series of mobile consular services after Auckland, that the Embassy will be conducting for Filipinos in New Zealand using the ePassport data capturing machines. Three (3) mobile passport processing machines will be made available.

Priority will be given to Filipinos staying in Rotorua and neighboring areas. Schedule for the consular services and OAV registration is 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on 14-16 April 2012 while on 17 April 2012 the schedule is only from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. Appointment for the mobile passport processing in Rotorua can be made through the Philippine Embassy in Wellington at (04) 4729848 and (04)4729921.
