Abbott Nutrition Announces Voluntary Recall of Peanut Butter Bars

As part of its priority to ensure the safety and quality of all of its products, Abbott Nutrition New Zealand is issuing the voluntary recalling all batches of ZonePerfect Peanut Toffee bars 50g.

This action is in response to the widening salmonella-related recall involving peanut butter and peanut paste ingredients manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), one of the peanut ingredient suppliers to the company. ZonePerfect Toffee Bars 50g should not be consumed.

Abbott is working with retail partners to remove the specified products from retail store shelves and encouraging customers and consumers to verify if they have the specified products.

In a statement released by Abbot said ,the product is sold across all supermarkets and specialised nutrition stores throughout New Zealand .

"Customers should return the product to their retailer for a fill refund or phone 0800666444 with any queries", the statement added.

According to Abbot NZ, they already finished the laboratory tests for Zoneperfect bas for salmonella and no salmonella contamination has been detected.

Abbot Nutrition New Zealand noted that this recall only affects the ZonePerfect Peanut Toffee Bar 50g and does not affect any other Zone Perfect Bars or any other Abbott Nutrition porducts in New Zealand.
