Petrol Down

Today BP and Shell decreased the price of petrol and diesel by 4 cents per litre at company operated outlets.

The price of 91 unleaded in most areas is now 206.9 cents per litre, 95 unleaded is 212.9 cents per litre and diesel 183.9 cents per litre.

Shell spokeswoman Shannon Kliendienst said a dramatic drop in the price of crude oil over the past week had caused the refined fuel price to drop

The exchange rate between the New Zealand and United States dollars had dropped by more than 3c in the same period, however, weakening the buying power of Kiwi oil companies.
